EPA exec spends $575K in Capitola

Ronald Wyzga and his wife, Pamela, bought a two-bedroom, one bath at 1965 42nd Ave. in Capitola for $575,000 from Deanna Birch on June 27.

Birch paid $795,000 for the property in Jan. 2006. The house was built in 1979.

Mr. Wyzga is a technical executive in the air quality health effects program area of the environment sector of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. He also works for the Electric Power Research Institute in Palo Alto. His current research interest is the relationship between health effects and air pollution, a topic he has been working on for over thirty years.

Prior to joining EPRI, he worked at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris, where he co-authored a book on economic evaluation of environmental damage.

He received a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a doctorate in biostatistics from Harvard University. He received his master's in statistics from Florida State University.
