UC-Santa Cruz geophysicist spends $1.6M for local 3BD

Ru-Shan Wu bought a three-bedroom, three bath at 537 Cuesta Dr. in Aptos for $1.6 million from Darlene Horner and her husband, Thomas, on June 27.

The Horners paid $969,500 for the property in April 2004. The 2,259 square foot house was built in 1971.

Wu is a research geophysicist and director of the modeling and imaging laboratory at the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics at the University of California-Santa Cruz. His research interests include theoretical seismology and geophysical wave scattering and imaging.

He received a Ph.D. in geophysics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
